Hi, I'm an alcoholic named David (12-16-14). No use beating around the bush, right?! I'm here to recover from all the "isms" associated with this addiction and anything else over which I am powerless.

ODAT the day we're in...with God's grace. Our "isms" are our gift to grow.

Icon23 Alanon working hard!

Well, this is the cart before the horse. Been posting, and haven't even introduced myself. What a dork!
I'm Al anon, and am working my steps diligently and doing everything I need to do to eradicate past thinking and crazy codependent behavior. I'm looking to better understand other Al anons and Alcoholics. It is amazing how fast one changes when working the 12 and how incredible it feels to surrender and look to an HP for guidance. Thank you for this site and these forums. Already feel linked to all of you.

Welcome Mary, David and Ali, so glad you all made the decision to join our family. I look forward to sharing with you.

The spider says go within instead of looking outside of ourselves for something to make us feel better. As the saying goes, "Oh what a tangled web we weave, when we practice to deceive." Who did we deceive more than ourselves?

Welcome Paige, I have found that the 12 Steps are applicable to all areas of my life. So glad you are here, hope you will continue to come and share your journey with us. I can identify with your list, the only thing different is that my abuse didn't start until I was 21.

Hi everyone...my name is John P. I am from Melrose, NY. Right now, I have 35 years of continuous sobriety (One Day at a Time!!) thanks to the Grace of God, and the Fellowship of AA.
