HARD TIMES

A bad health report. A lost loved one. A change in jobs. A decrease in income. Hard times happen. We are not immune. However, during hard times we should look to Jesus. We should look to Jesus because He can help us handle our hard times in ways that will reflect His love, His peace and His glory to others. Because of our hard times, others will see hope in us if we stay focused on Jesus. And if we stay focused in God's word, we will develop endurance which will help us be bold in sharing His word with others and how He has helped us.

Philippians 1:14 "And because of my imprisonment, most of the believers here have gained confidence and boldly speak God's message without fear." (NLT)

Dear Lord, we know there are going to be hard times in our lives. We know there are going to be issues out of our control. Prepare us now as we pray. Show us how to be ready as we read Your word. Help us be an example in our hard times to those who need to hear about You and Your love. When others see You in us in hard times, it gives us opportunities to be bold and share about You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Others take notice when we are struggling to see who or what we are clinging to for hope and for help.

When we focus on Jesus before hard times hit, it will be easier to focus on Him when hard times come.

We can be bold in hard times when we stay in God's word, pray and trust in Him.

There are many things great about our God but one thing is we can always put our hope, our faith and our trust in Him.

Thank God for hard times where we can boldly cling to Him and share His love with others.

Romans 5:3 "We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance." (NLT)

Focus: Rejoicing in trials and troubles may not seem normal to the world, but it is needed in order to see God's plan for our lives.
