Default Bean Soup

These are the ingredients I use to make this for just my husband and me:

1/2 lb dried Great Northern Beans
1/2 lb cubed smoked ham or 8oz pack John Morrell cubed ham
1 15oz can diced potatoes (rinsed and drained)
1 celery stalk diced
1 chopped onion
1 ts garlic powder
1 ts onion powder
1 ts oregano
1 bay leaf (optional)
1/4 ts red pepper
salt and pepper to taste

Put all ingredients in pot except diced potatoes and cook until beans are done then add potatoes and cook another 30 minutes and serve.

**If using crockpot then put in beans first, then ham, then celery, then onion, then diced potatoes, then seasonings and water to cover everything. Cook until done.

Yummylicious.

Can use fresh potatoes and garlic. Can use Navy Beans instead of Great Northern Beans. I like Great Northern Beans better.
