Default Forgiveness is an expression of God’s love

Forgive
Forgiveness is an expression of God’s love.

When Jesus was asked “How often should I forgive? As many as seven times?” He responded, “Not seven times, but, I tell you, seventy times seven times.” Jesus did not say to forgive only as much as the other person deserves—but to forgive without end. Forgiveness is an expression of God’s love, as much for the forgiver as the forgiven.

When I limit my forgiveness to those who I believe deserve it, I am putting limits on the love of God, and limiting myself. As I forgive others, I release resentment and envision the highest and best for them.

I have also made mistakes in my own life. As I forgive others, I forgive myself. I am open to the full expression of God’s love.
Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.—Luke 6:37
