Not Everyone Will Like Us
 

NOT EVERYONE WILL LIKE US

So many of us spend way too much time talking about how much someone doesn’t like us. We spend too much time thinking about what they said or did and waste time wondering why they treat us like they do. When we dwell on what others think about us or do to us, we are not focusing on doing God’s will. However, when we accept that not everyone will like us or what we do, we will be able to endure and enjoy blessings from God.

Luke 6:22 “What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, help us to focus on You today. Help us to stop thinking about how others feel about us. Remind us we are only here on earth to serve You and to do Your will for us. We know sin is rampant in this world and the devil enjoys provoking us against one another. Help us today to resist the devil and show love rather than hate. Help us to endure through the mental and physical beatings of others so we can continue to do You will. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Not everyone will like us. We can’t make them like us. But God loves us. And we can’t stop Him from loving us.

When others show ill feelings toward us, we need to show them love.

When we stay busy worrying about what others think, we won’t get to do what God has called us to do.

We can endure through anything when we focus on God rather than what others think or say or do.

When people do things to us that are wrong and we don’t understand why, we can pray for them and for our attitudes to be right toward them.

Romans 12:14 “Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them.” (NLT)

Focus: There are so many blessings for everyone when we choose to show love rather than hate and resentment.
