Being Open-Minded

BEING OPEN-MINDED

If we have ever dealt with closed-minded people, we know how difficult it is for them to see any other options other than their own. Those who are closed-minded have their mind set on doing things their way. They believe what they believe because they don’t care to look at it another way. They stop seeking other opinions or alternatives because they just want to stay set in their own way of thinking. When we aren’t open-minded, we lose opportunities to think and grow. We should continually seek God’s way and be open-minded to what He wants to teach us. Seeking His truth will help us learn to be more holy.

Acts 17:11 “And the people of Berea were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica, and they listened eagerly to Paul’s message. They searched the Scriptures day after day to see if Paul and Silas were teaching the truth.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we want to be open-minded. We want to eagerly listen to Your word. We want to know what You want us to do and be eager to seek Your truth. Help us to search out areas where we are too closed-minded and open our eyes to what You want us to see. Show us how to better read, understand and seek Your word and Your will. Show us how to be more holy. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Being open-minded means we are ready to take on the opportunities God puts before us.

When we aren’t open-minded, we lose opportunities to think and grow.

We should continually seek God’s way and be open-minded to what He wants to teach us.

Seeking God’s truth day after day will help us learn to be more holy.

When we open our minds to God, He will open our hearts, our ears and our eyes to His word.

Luke 24:45 “Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.” (NLT)

Focus: Rather than being narrow-minded or closed-minded, let’s open our minds to God so we can be more holy.
