The role of fear

The role of fear by Alive to God

We will face fear. When we are confronted with troubles and we have to make decisions there is a very real possibility of an element of fear creeping in. This is all the more reason to trust God. When we feel afraid it should encourage us to trust God even more.

Psalm 56:3-4 But when I am afraid, I will put my confidence in You. Yes, I will trust the promises of God. And since I am trusting Him, what can mere man do to me?

It is as we return to trusting God that our confidence can be restored.

Isaiah 30:15 For the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, says: Only in returning to Me and waiting for Me will you be saved; in quietness and confidence is your strength.

We have freedom of choice. We can face our fears or we can run from them. Fear and faith can't occupy the same space. As much as I may believe in my God, He can do nothing until I surrender my fears over to Him. Surrender is not giving up, it is giving over. It is saying, "I can't do this, I know you can, I give them over to you.
