The Lord Will Fight for You

The Lord Will Fight for You

Today's Scripture

“The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest.” (Exodus 14:14, AMP)

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

In life, we’re always going to have critics. We’ll always have difficult people who try to upset us and steal our peace and joy. But, you don’t have to respond to every critic. You can decide to take the high road and let God fight your battles for you.

Sometimes, no matter what you say or do, there are people who aren’t going to accept you. They just don’t want to be at peace with you. In fact, when Jesus sent out His disciples to certain homes, He told them to always speak peace over those homes. And then He said in effect, “If they don’t receive the peace that you’re offering, then it will come back to you.” That tells me that if you will do your best to be at peace with people, even if they won’t take your peace, that peace will just come back to you. You’ll not only get your peace, but you’ll get their share as well! That’s double for your trouble! When you do the right thing no matter what is happening, God sees it and rewards it.

A Prayer for Today

Father in heaven, I choose to hold my peace. I choose to do the right thing even when the wrong thing is happening. I trust that You are fighting my battles for me. I give You all the honor and praise in Jesus’ name. Amen.

This was a difficult thing to let go of, always wanting to put my two cents in, even if it wasn`t asked for. I was looking at it as sharing, my experience, strength and hope, while others saw it as me not minding my own business.

My sponsor told me to share, and what other did with it was none of my business.

A good slogan is, `How important is it` and for me, my sobriety is important. Because I can`t get out to meetings, my computer is my life line.

My God cares for me. I went downtown this morning even though I was in pain. On my way back from the library, I met a lady who I have never seen in the mall before, and she was only there because she was looking for someone (a girl I use to sponsor), and as a result, I got a great big hug and a mini-meeting. This same lady and another one who joined the Women`s Group that I use to be a member of, did an Al-Anon Step Four together. All three of us were recovering alcoholics, but we need Al-Anon too.

My God keeps bringing me back to where I need to be, he fights for me, but more often than not, it is me doing the fighting or I am not willing to fight the good fight.
